The Future Of Electric Vehicles
Electric vehicles will soon be commonplace on our roads. An electric vehicle is cheap to run and because it emits zero carbon emissions, it is currently exempt from road tax.
The UK Government is planning to ban the sale of all new petrol, diesel or hybrid cars and vans by 2035. Sir David Attenborough has recently said “now is the moment”
As the world evolves, we are taking steps towards a greener future to improve air quality and halt climate change and many are already researching the EV market for their next vehicle.

EV charging at Home or at Work
We can help
Charging at home is often the most convenient and cost-effective way to recharge an EV. Government grants are available for the installation of home EV charge points, which are typically rated at 3 kW or 7 kW.
Given that private cars are usually parked overnight, most electric car owners rely on home charging to ensure that their EV is ready for use each morning. As well as being convenient, home-based overnight charging also has the advantage of being, in most cases, the cheapest time to recharge.
The Government provides financial support for EV buyers to install a charge point at their home through the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS), which covers a proportion of the total costs.
For employees, charging at work can be a convenient way to recharge an EV whilst parked during the day. From a business point of view, having a charge point at the workplace will become increasingly important as a facility for employees and visitors, while for businesses with an EV fleet it can be an essential operating factor.
The Government offers businesses, organisations, charities, and local authorities financial support to have charge points installed at their premises under the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS).
The grant provides up to £350 per socket at 75% of the total cost of installation – up to a maximum of 20 sockets – to be installed on dedicated off-street parking for staff, visitors, or fleet use.
